Your 48-hour turnaround starts when we have everything we need. The more complete your order form, the faster you receive your document. If we need to contact you for missing information, your turnaround time is extended until we receive your reply. Please take your time and answer every question fully. Always check your spam and junk folder after ordering — our emails occasionally go there.

ℹ️ About our will service: Our will service is suitable for straightforward estates. If your estate is valued at over £2 million, involves foreign property, agricultural land, complex inheritance tax planning, or anything outside our service scope, we recommend you instruct a solicitor — although you may still use our service if you are satisfied it meets your needs. If you are unsure whether our service is right for you, please email us before ordering. We do not provide legal or tax advice. Always seek independent legal and financial advice in conjunction with preparing your will.
⚠️ Business owners — please read before ordering: We do not prepare Business Property Relief trusts. If you need advice on Business Property Relief, IHT planning for your business, or complex business succession planning, you should instruct a solicitor. If you have a business and are preparing a will, please speak to your accountant before ordering to ensure our service is appropriate for your needs. We do not provide tax advice.

We are a 100% online service. There are no office visits, no appointments and no phone calls. Everything is handled by email — which means you can order from anywhere in England and Wales, at any time that suits you.
We are a document preparation service, not a law firm. We do not provide legal advice. We do provide professional, affordable documents — prepared properly and delivered fast.
We want to be upfront about what we offer and when a solicitor might be a better option for you.
✓ Our service is right for you if:
You are aged 18 or over
You are based in England or Wales
You need a document for use in England or Wales
Your circumstances are relatively straightforward

You are involved in court proceedings
Your matter involves Scottish or Northern Irish law
You need cross-border or international documents
You want a lawyer-client relationship and full legal protection
AS A REMINDER: Kent Online Legal Document Service provides document preparation, not legal advice. We are not a law firm and are not registered or regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority. There is no lawyer-client relationship between us and our clients. By using our service you confirm you understand this and agree to our Terms of Service.

Questions answered
Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know before you order.
Is this really a fully online service? +
Yes — with one exception. All document preparation services are handled entirely online by email — no office visits, appointments or telephone consultations. The only exception is our LPA (Lasting Power of Attorney) service, which includes a home visit to Kent and Medway for the signing appointment as we act as your certificate provider. All other services — wills, tenancy agreements, declarations of trust, NDAs and everything else — are 100% online.
How does the 48-hour turnaround work exactly? +
Your 48 hours starts from the moment we have your complete order — all form information filled in fully, and any required supporting documents emailed to us. If your form is incomplete or we need to contact you for missing details, the turnaround clock does not start until we receive your complete reply. The best way to get your document quickly is to answer every form question as fully as possible.
Are you a law firm? +
No. Kent Online Legal Document Service is a document preparation service, not a law firm. We are not regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority. There is no lawyer-client relationship between us. We prepare documents on your behalf based on the information you provide. We strongly recommend seeking independent legal advice before signing any legal document.
Do I need to upload documents on the form? +
No uploads are required on the form itself. After payment, your confirmation email tells you exactly what to email us — if anything. For most documents, the form information alone is sufficient. Documents such as a Declaration of Trust or Notice of Severance may require you to email your title register.
What happens if I leave questions blank on the form? +
If mandatory questions are left blank, the form will not submit. If optional questions are left blank and we need that information to draft your document, we will contact you by email — and your 48-hour turnaround will be extended until we receive your reply. To avoid delays, please complete the form as fully as possible.
What if you need more information after I have paid? +
We will email you within 48 hours with exactly what we need — a clear, specific list, not a vague request. Your document will be prepared and sent within 48 hours of receiving your complete reply. Please keep an eye on your email inbox, including your junk folder, after ordering.
Do you cover the whole of the UK? +
We prepare documents for clients in England and Wales. As a fully online service, your location makes no difference — we serve clients in Kent, London, the South East and across England and Wales. Please note that Scottish and Northern Irish law differs significantly and most of our documents are prepared for use under English and Welsh law only.
Do I need independent legal advice as well? +
We always recommend seeking independent legal advice from a qualified solicitor before signing any legal document. For pre-nuptial and post-nuptial agreements in particular, both parties having independent legal advice significantly strengthens the enforceability of the document. For shareholders' agreements, legal advice is strongly advised.
What if I need my document urgently in less than 48 hours? +
We offer an urgent service for an additional £25. Select this option on the order form and we will prioritise your document. Urgent turnaround is subject to our availability and requires your form to be complete — we cannot guarantee urgent turnaround for incomplete orders.

Terms of Service
Last updated: March 2026
Important: Kent Online Legal Document Service is a document preparation service only. We are not a law firm and are not regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority. The documents we prepare do not constitute legal advice. There is no lawyer-client relationship between us and our clients. We strongly recommend you seek independent legal advice before signing any legal document.
1. Who We Are
Kent Online Legal Document Service is a document preparation service operated as a sole trader in Kent, England. We prepare legal documents based on information provided by clients. We are registered with the Information Commissioner's Office. Contact: hello@kentonlinedocumentservice.co.uk
2. Our Service
We provide a document preparation service only. We do not provide legal advice, tax advice, financial advice or any advisory service of any kind. The documents we prepare are based solely on the information you provide to us and do not constitute legal advice. We are not a law firm, are not regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority, and there is no lawyer-client relationship between us and our clients. We strongly recommend you seek independent legal advice from a qualified solicitor and independent financial or tax advice before signing any document we prepare.
3. Who Can Use Our Service
To use our service you must be aged 18 or over, resident in England or Wales, require a document for use in England or Wales, and be able to independently read and understand the documents we send you. You must be ordering for your own personal or business use only. You may not order documents on behalf of third parties or for resale. Holding a Lasting Power of Attorney does not permit you to order documents on behalf of the donor using our service. As we are an online-only service, all documents are delivered by email in Word format. Where a document requires completion, amendment or physical signing by multiple parties, you will need access to a printer. We strongly recommend that all parties seek independent legal advice from a qualified solicitor before signing any document we prepare. All parties must have mental capacity to enter into the document and must do so freely and voluntarily without pressure or undue influence from any person.
4. What Is Not Included
Our service does not include and you should not rely on it for: legal advice of any kind; tax advice including inheritance tax or capital gains tax planning; advice on whether a document is suitable for your circumstances; advice on how to mitigate beneficiary claims or challenges; supervision or checking of the signing or execution of your document; storage of your document after delivery; financial advice of any kind. We do not assess mental capacity, check for undue influence, verify identity, or confirm that instructions are given freely and voluntarily.
5. Eligibility and Suitability
Our service is designed for straightforward documents and estates. We recommend you instruct a solicitor if you have complex circumstances including: estates valued above £2 million; complex inheritance tax planning including Business Property Relief; foreign property or overseas assets; agricultural land; complex business succession requirements; or contentious family circumstances. We do not prepare Business Property Relief trusts. We do not include bespoke clausing for complex estates. If we consider your requirements fall outside our service we reserve the right to decline your order and issue a full refund.
6. How to Order
Complete the online order form for your chosen document and pay securely via Stripe. Your 48-hour turnaround begins when we have received your completed form, full payment and all required supporting documents. We will contact you within 24 hours if anything is missing. The price you pay is the price shown at the time of your order. All prices are inclusive of any applicable charges and exclude VAT as we are not VAT registered.
7. Your Right to Cancel
Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 you have a right to cancel your order within 14 days of purchase without giving a reason, provided we have not yet commenced preparing your document. By submitting your order form you acknowledge that you are requesting us to begin work immediately and that your right to cancel is lost once work commences. We will confirm when work has commenced by email.
8. Refunds
We will issue a full refund if: we are unable to prepare your document due to insufficient or unclear information; we decline your order on capacity or suitability grounds; or we are unable to commence work within a reasonable time. We will not issue a refund once your completed document has been delivered to your email address, except where we have made an error in preparing your document. We process refunds via Stripe — funds are returned to your original payment method within 5-10 working days.
9. Right to Decline Orders
We reserve the right to decline or cancel any order at our sole discretion, including where we are unable to fulfil the order due to capacity constraints, business levels or staffing availability, or where we consider the instructions are too complex or outside the scope of our service. You will be notified promptly by email and a full refund will be issued immediately.
10. Accuracy of Information
You must provide accurate and complete information. You agree not to mislead us or misrepresent your circumstances. Documents prepared on the basis of inaccurate or incomplete information are prepared entirely at your risk. We accept no liability for documents prepared on the basis of information you have provided that is inaccurate, incomplete or misleading. Where a document is prepared for more than one party, all parties are responsible for ensuring the information is agreed between them before the document is signed. Our document templates are unchanged pre-approved documents prepared and reviewed by our qualified paralegal team. They are prepared from information provided by the client and standard options to ensure all parties have full transparency and autonomy in agreeing the terms that apply to their circumstances. We do not remove options or alter the structure of our templates on individual request. Where multiple options are presented, all parties must agree the applicable option together, cross through inapplicable options and initial every deletion before signing. By signing a document all parties confirm they have agreed all options together and that the document accurately reflects their intentions.
11. Impersonation and Authority
This service is for use by individuals acting on their own behalf only. You must use your own email address. Documents will be delivered to the email address provided at checkout. Using another person's email address without their knowledge and consent may cause complications, challenge or invalidation of the document. We do not accept responsibility for documents delivered to an incorrect email address. We do not store completed documents after delivery.
12. Signing and Execution
We provide signing instructions with every document. It is your sole responsibility to ensure your document is signed correctly in accordance with those instructions and applicable law. We do not supervise or check the signing process. A will that is not signed and witnessed correctly is likely to be invalid. You should seek independent legal advice if you are unsure about execution requirements.
13. Third Party Information
Where you provide information about other people in your order, you confirm that you have their consent to provide their personal details to us and that they agree to us holding and processing their information in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
14. Liability
We are not liable for any loss, damage or consequence arising from the use of documents we produce beyond the reasonable care and skill applied in their preparation. Our total liability in connection with any order shall not exceed the amount you paid for that order. We do not exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by applicable law. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
15. Tenancy Agreements
Our tenancy agreements are compliant with the Renters' Rights Act 2025 and are for use in England and Wales only. Section 21 no-fault evictions have been abolished — we prepare Section 8 notices only. We do not advise on whether a tenancy agreement or eviction notice is suitable for your specific circumstances. You are responsible for ensuring compliance with current legislation at the time of signing.
16. Declarations of Trust and Notices of Severance
A Declaration of Trust only takes full effect if the property is owned as tenants in common. If you are currently joint tenants you must serve a Notice of Severance before a Declaration of Trust can be effective. We offer a Title Register Check (£10) to confirm your ownership type — we strongly recommend this if you are not certain. If our Title Register Check confirms the property is already tenants in common, we will refund the cost of any Notice of Severance purchased. We prepare Declaration of Trust documents based solely on the information provided by the client in the order form. We do not carry out title searches or verify the ownership structure, mortgage position or any other matter relating to the property unless a Title Register Check has been separately purchased. Clients are responsible for ensuring that all information provided is accurate and complete before signing any document we prepare. Our Declaration of Trust templates are unchanged pre-approved documents prepared and reviewed by our qualified paralegal team. They are prepared from information provided by the client and standard options to ensure all parties have full transparency and autonomy in agreeing the terms that apply to their circumstances. We do not remove or alter clauses on individual request. Where multiple options are presented in a document, all parties must complete the document together — printing one copy, agreeing each option jointly and crossing through inapplicable options with both parties initialling every deletion. This self-completion approach means both parties actively consent to the final agreed terms, making the document more enforceable than one where options have been pre-deleted on one party's instruction. All parties should seek independent legal advice before signing.
17. Wills — General
Our will service is suitable for straightforward estates. We do not prepare Business Property Relief trusts. If you own a business, please speak to your accountant before ordering to ensure our service is appropriate. If your estate may be subject to inheritance tax we strongly recommend independent tax advice before or in conjunction with preparing your will. We do not provide tax advice of any kind. If your estate is over £2 million in value you may benefit from specialist solicitor advice, although you may still use our service if satisfied it meets your needs.
18. Complex Wills and Property Trusts
Our Complex Will service includes a life interest trust (also known as an asset protection trust or right of occupation trust). This trust only works if the property is owned as tenants in common. You must purchase a Title Register Check if you are not certain of your ownership type. If the property is joint tenants a Notice of Severance must be prepared first. If we cannot confirm ownership we reserve the right to automatically refund your order. If you have a mortgage we strongly recommend speaking to a financial advisor about life insurance cover — we can provide a referral on request.
19. Document Amendment Subscription
The Document Amendment Subscription (£10 per year) is available for all documents we prepare and may be purchased at any time — there is no requirement to purchase at the time of your order. It includes up to 2 amendments per year by email to hello@kentonlinedocumentservice.co.uk quoting your order reference. We recommend purchasing this subscription if you anticipate your circumstances may change. Unused amendments do not carry forward to the next year. We send a renewal reminder approximately one month before expiry. If your subscription lapses, amendments are not available until a new subscription is purchased. We reserve the right to determine whether a requested change constitutes an amendment or requires a new document. We recommend all clients review their documents periodically with an independent legal or financial professional to ensure they remain appropriate for their circumstances and compliant with current law.
20. Pre-Nuptial and Post-Nuptial Agreements
Pre-nuptial agreements must be completed at least 28 days before the wedding date. We cannot accept orders where the wedding is fewer than 28 days away. These agreements are not automatically legally binding in England and Wales but are given significant weight by courts where both parties have received independent legal advice and the agreement was freely entered into. We strongly recommend independent legal advice before signing.
21. Loan Agreements
We prepare unsecured loan agreements only. We do not prepare loan agreements secured by a legal charge over property — this is a reserved legal activity. If you require a secured loan agreement please instruct a solicitor. We do not advise on the tax implications of loans between connected persons.
22. Shareholders Agreements
A shareholders agreement is a complex document. We strongly recommend all shareholders obtain independent legal advice before signing. A shareholders agreement should be read alongside your company's articles of association. We do not advise on whether our standard agreement is suitable for your company structure.
23. Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA) Service
Our LPA service covers the preparation of both a Property and Financial Affairs LPA and a Health and Welfare LPA for one person (single package) or two people (couple package). The following specific terms apply to this service:
OPG registration fee: The Office of the Public Guardian (OPG) charges a registration fee of £92 per LPA (£184 for a single package, £368 for a couple package). This fee is paid directly by you to the OPG and is entirely separate from our service fee. We have no control over OPG fees and they are subject to change.
Registration timescale: OPG registration currently takes between 8 and 20 weeks. This timescale is set by the OPG and is entirely outside our control. We accept no liability for delays in OPG processing.
Certificate provider: Our paralegal will act as certificate provider for your LPA in a professional capacity. This requires a home visit in Kent and Medway for the signing stage. All other stages of the process are completed online by email.
Paralegal identity: The name of the paralegal acting as certificate provider will be disclosed to you by email when your draft LPAs are sent for approval. Their name does not appear on our website.
Capacity and undue influence: As certificate provider our paralegal will confirm that in their professional opinion you appear to understand the purpose and scope of the LPA and are not being pressured into signing. They are not providing a clinical or legal assessment of mental capacity.
An LPA can only be made whilst you have mental capacity. We strongly recommend putting this in place without delay. We are not responsible for any consequences arising from a delay in ordering.
Home visit area: Home visits for signing are available in Kent and Medway only. If you are outside this area please contact us before ordering at hello@kentonlinedocumentservice.co.uk.
24. Disabled Person's / Vulnerable Person's Trust with Letter of Wishes
Our Disabled/Vulnerable Person's Trust service includes the preparation of a will containing a trust for a disabled or vulnerable person together with a tailored Letter of Wishes. The following specific terms apply:
Trust fund use: The trust fund can only be used to support the disabled or vulnerable person during their lifetime. The trust continues until they die and cannot be ended while they are alive.
Qualifying criteria: For the trust to qualify for favourable tax treatment under HMRC rules, the beneficiary must meet the qualifying criteria for a Disabled Person's Trust at the time the trust takes effect. We do not assess, confirm or guarantee whether any individual meets the qualifying criteria. You are responsible for satisfying yourself that your beneficiary qualifies. We strongly recommend seeking independent advice from a qualified solicitor or accountant if you are unsure.
Discretionary trust fallback: If the beneficiary does not meet the qualifying criteria at the time the trust takes effect, the trust will operate as a discretionary trust. Trustees should seek professional tax advice at that point.
No tax or benefits advice: We do not provide inheritance tax advice, income tax advice, capital gains tax advice or advice on means-tested benefits in connection with this service. We cannot confirm or guarantee whether a trust will protect any individual's entitlement to means-tested benefits. You should seek independent professional advice before relying on a trust to protect benefits.
Letter of Wishes: The Letter of Wishes prepared as part of this service is a non-binding document. Trustees are not legally required to follow it. The final decision on all distributions from the trust rests with the trustees at all times.
Annual exemption: The £3,000 per year or 3% of trust fund (whichever is lower) annual exemption for payments to non-disabled beneficiaries is subject to HMRC rules and professional advice. We do not advise on the application of this exemption.
Trustee responsibilities: Trustees have important long-term legal responsibilities. We strongly recommend all trustees seek independent professional advice, particularly for tax, investment and legal decisions affecting the trust.
25. Amendments — All Services
Where you wish to request an amendment to a document we have prepared, the following applies to all services:
Errors made by us: If we have made an error in preparing your document, we will correct it at no charge at any time after delivery. Please email hello@kentonlinedocumentservice.co.uk quoting your order reference.
10 working day complimentary correction period: As a goodwill gesture, we offer a complimentary correction period of 10 working days from the date of delivery of your document. During this period you may request minor corrections to information already provided at no charge. This period does not cover new instructions, changes of mind, or substantive changes to the document.
After the 10 working day period — Document Amendment Subscription: After the 10 working day complimentary period, amendments to your document require a current Document Amendment Subscription (£10 per year, up to 2 amendments per year). The subscription can be purchased at any time — there is no deadline and no requirement to purchase at the time of your order, though we recommend doing so while your document is fresh. Without a subscription, a new document order will be required for any changes.
Order form accuracy: It is your responsibility to provide accurate and complete information in your order form. Documents are prepared based solely on the information you provide. Corrections required due to inaccurate or incomplete information provided by you are not covered by the complimentary correction period and will require a Document Amendment Subscription or a new order.
Law changes: Your document is prepared in accordance with the law in force at the date of preparation. We are not responsible for updating your document in the event of subsequent changes in law or regulation. We recommend that all clients periodically review their documents with an independent legal or financial professional to ensure they remain appropriate for their circumstances and compliant with current law.
26. LPA Service — Scope
Our LPA service covers the preparation of your LPA documents and our paralegal's role as certificate provider at the signing stage. Our service is complete on delivery of your signed LPA documents. The Office of the Public Guardian (OPG) registration process is carried out on your behalf as part of the service. Once your LPA has been submitted to the OPG, any queries or corrections requested by the OPG are outside the scope of our service. If the OPG returns your documents for correction, this will require a new order and additional OPG fees. It is therefore essential that all information provided in your order form is accurate and complete. We are not responsible for delays, rejections or additional fees arising from inaccurate or incomplete information provided by you.
26. Add-On Services
The following add-ons are available at the relevant stage of your order:
Title Register Check (£10) — confirms how your property is owned at Land Registry. Required or strongly recommended before any property document or will involving property where ownership is uncertain.
Notice of Severance (£49) — required if your property is joint tenants and you wish to change to tenants in common before a Declaration of Trust or Complex Will.
Document Amendment Subscription (£10/year) — available for all documents. Can be purchased at any time. Up to 2 amendments per year by email. Unused amendments do not carry forward.
Urgent turnaround (+£25) — 24-hour turnaround, subject to availability and confirmation by us.
26. Financial Advice and Referrals
We are not financial advisors and do not provide financial advice. We can refer you to our in-house financial advisor who operates independently and charges their own fees. A free initial consultation is available on request. Email hello@kentonlinedocumentservice.co.uk to enquire. We accept no responsibility for any advice given by any third party.
27. Professional Indemnity Insurance
Kent Online Legal Document Service holds professional indemnity insurance. Details of our current cover are available on request.
29. Data Protection
We process your personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy and UK GDPR. We are registered with the Information Commissioner's Office. By using our service you consent to our processing of your personal data as described in our Privacy Policy.
30. Complaints
If you have a complaint please email hello@kentonlinedocumentservice.co.uk with subject line "Complaint", your order reference, description of your complaint and desired outcome. We will acknowledge within 2 working days and respond fully within 10 working days. If not satisfied you may refer to the Consumer Ombudsman or seek independent legal advice. As we are not SRA regulated the Legal Ombudsman does not have jurisdiction over our service.
